Software Engineer (Full‑Time)

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa (Hybrid – two days onsite)

Employment Type: Full‑time

Base Salary: R250,000 – R300,000 per annum (gross)

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. You will work on building scalable web applications, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high‑quality software solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and maintain complex software applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and prioritize features.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
• Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Stay current with emerging industry trends and technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and modern web frameworks (React, Angular or Vue).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and database technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Solid understanding of version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Afrikaans or Zulu is a plus.

Preferred Extras

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Previous work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
