Job Opportunity: Soup Truck Drivers (3 Positions Available)

About the Role

We are looking for three reliable and enthusiastic Soup Truck Drivers to join our dynamic team. The primary purpose of this role is to transport our delicious, high-quality soups to various communities, ensuring safe, timely, and friendly delivery service. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys driving, has a passion for food, and loves interacting with people.

Key Responsibilities

Driving and Delivery:

• Safely and efficiently operate the soup truck to deliver products to designated locations.
• Follow planned routes and schedules to ensure all deliveries are completed on time.
• Maintain compliance with all food safety and transportation regulations during deliveries.

Customer Service:

• Engage positively with customers at each stop, providing information about our soups and answering any questions.
• Handle customer inquiries and feedback professionally to ensure a consistently positive experience.

Truck Maintenance:

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
• Carry out basic maintenance tasks and promptly report any mechanical issues to management.

Inventory Management:

• Assist with loading and unloading food supplies and inventory before and after delivery routes.
• Help maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies or shortages.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene guidelines to ensure food products remain safe and high-quality during transport.

Qualifications and Experience

Education & Experience:

• Minimum educational requirement: Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a driver, especially in food delivery or a similar role, is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• A Professional Driving Permit (PDP) will be a strong advantage.

Driving Experience:

• At least 1-3 years of professional driving experience, ideally within food service, catering, or delivery.

Required Skills

• Excellent driving skills and good knowledge of local roads and routes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for positive customer interactions.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and managing simple invoices if required.
• Good time management to adhere to delivery schedules.
• Understanding of food safety practices.
• Problem-solving skills to address customer or delivery issues effectively.
• Physical stamina for lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
• Attention to detail in following delivery protocols and maintaining food quality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy items (up to [insert weight] pounds) regularly.
• Comfortable working on your feet for long periods.
• Must be willing and able to work in various weather conditions.

Additional Information

Note: Successful candidates must be willing to work on weekends as required. Positions are available in Alexandra, Protea Glen, and Mpumalanga.
