Job Purpose
This role involves performing labouring activities that support logistical operations, including preparing equipment for loading and unloading of products and chemicals, and carrying out general housekeeping tasks.
Key Accountabilities
- Safety
- Correctly identify and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in emergency preparedness exercises.
- Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment and ensure maintenance where applicable.
- Perform BAPP observations where applicable.
- Adhere to all safety and work standards.
- Conduct IMS inspections.
- Housekeeping
- Clean plant areas, benches, floors, PPE, glassware, etc., following direct instruction or routine plans.
- Pack and organise materials in storage areas as directed.
- Handle and store chemicals or dangerous materials safely (where applicable).
- Handle, store and transport gas cylinders safely (where applicable).
- Load and offload vehicles.
- Maintain general neatness of the area of responsibility.
- Perform tasks under direct supervision or as planned.
- General Duties
- Assist a dedicated person in performing discipline‑specific tasks.
- Carry out discipline‑specific activities as instructed.
- Deliver messages and parcels where applicable.
- Work overtime when required.
- Use hand tools and equipment safely and correctly.
- Handle process chemicals and glassware safely (where applicable).
- Complete ad‑hoc tasks as requested by senior personnel.
Formal Education and Qualifications
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
- Code EC1 driving licence.
- Forklift driving licence is an advantage.
Work Experience
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Employment Conditions
- Full‑time, permanent position (subject to change).
