This role is part of our Research & Technology (R&T) team and focuses on providing essential labour support for logistical operations and general housekeeping within the plant.

Purpose of the Job

Support logistics by preparing equipment for loading and unloading of products and chemicals, and perform general housekeeping duties across the facility.

Key Accountabilities

Safety

  • Correctly identify and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Inspect safety equipment routinely and arrange maintenance when required.
  • Carry out BAPP observations where applicable.
  • Adhere to all safety and work standards and conduct IMS inspections.

Housekeeping

  • Clean plant areas, benches, floors, PPE and glassware following instructions or planned routines.
  • Pack materials in storage areas as instructed.
  • Safely handle, stack, and store chemicals and dangerous materials where applicable.
  • Handle and store gas cylinders safely where required.
  • Load and offload vehicles.
  • Maintain general neatness in assigned areas.
  • Perform tasks under direct supervision and according to work plans.

General Duties

  • Assist designated personnel with discipline‑specific tasks.
  • Follow instructions for discipline‑specific activities.
  • Deliver messages and parcels when required.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Use hand tools and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Handle process chemicals and glassware safely where applicable.
  • Perform ad‑hoc tasks as requested by senior personnel.

Formal Education

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
  • Code EC1 driving licence.
  • Forklift driving licence (advantage).

Working Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
