About the Position
We are seeking dedicated and organized individuals to join the Case Management Sub‑Section at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Mayville, KwaZulu‑Natal. The successful applicants will perform a range of clerical and administrative duties that support our forensic investigations and client service commitments.

Mayville: Forensic Science Laboratory, KwaZulu‑Natal
Salary
R228,321 per annum (Level 05) – inclusive of all statutory benefits.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF Level 4, recorded on the National Learner Record Database.
- Computer literacy and basic proficiency with MS Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective organisational and time‑management ability.
Key Duties
The role involves routine case registration, allocation, and follow‑up. Core responsibilities include:
- Receiving and registering new cases.
- Assigning cases to analysts in accordance with quality standards.
- Collecting exhibits and dockets from analysts and completing required follow‑up tasks.
- Providing client service – responding to enquiries, communicating updates, and scanning reports.
- Executing dispatch functions in line with prescribed standards.
- Receiving samples at designated storage areas.
- Preparing cases for off‑site archiving.
- Sending analysed exhibits to Investigating Officers.
- Ensuring compliance with Quality Management and Health & Safety requirements.
