Job Description
The National Energy and Conservation (NECSA) Corporation is seeking dedicated Security Officers to provide security and protection for the Corporation, its employees, visitors and stakeholders, both local and international. The role requires strict compliance with constitutional and legislative obligations, regulatory requirements, and international agreements concerning the security of NECSA installations, sites, premises, materials, employees, and visitors. The selected candidates will perform access and egress control duties during their shift across all NECSA operational entrances, exits, and facilities.
Principal Accountabilities
- Control people, vehicles, and materials at access and egress points, ensuring every individual is positively identified.
- Use the access‑control system for all persons traversing NECSA portals.
- Prevent any unauthorised persons, vehicles, or articles from passing through access points.
- Search persons, goods, and vehicles according to SSD procedures to detect unauthorised items.
- Conduct regular security patrols, deterring, detecting, reporting, and reacting to incidents.
- Interpret patrol instructions, gather information, and compile detailed reports.
- Escort authorised persons, goods, and vehicles where required (excluding close‑protection or transit escort duties).
- Prepare adequately for patrols, ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
- Identify and respond to emergency situations.
- Assist in evacuation drills and fire safety exercises.
- Handle firearms and maintain them in accordance with NECSA firearm procedures.

Requirements
General
- Valid driver’s licence (Code B or higher).
- Must meet vetting requirements with no criminal record.
- Age between 18 – 35 years.
- Physically fit to perform security duties, including access control.
Academic
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
- PSIRA Grade C or higher.
- Valid SAPS firearm competency for all NKP specified types.
- NKP certificate of competency and course report/statement results.
Experience
- At least 2–3 years of general security experience.
- Experience in a National Key Point (NKP) environment is an advantage.
