About the Role

Motus Ford & Mazda Kroonstad, part of the Motus Corporation, is looking for a motivated Apprentice, Level Year 1, to join our workshop team. As the starting point of an automotive career, you will receive on‑the‑job training, mentorship from experienced technicians, and learning that follows MerSETA apprenticeship standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians with vehicle diagnostics, repairs and routine servicing.
  • Learn to use modern diagnostic tools and keep them in safe working condition.
  • Support the team in completing maintenance tasks and mechanical repairs.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with safety procedures.
  • Attend scheduled technical training courses and apprenticeship classes.
  • Prepare for and complete level tests in line with trade qualification timelines.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by the service department.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Matric certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Accredited N3 certificate in a technical field.
  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Strong interest in automotive technology and vehicle systems.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
  • Reliable work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks in a busy workshop.
  • Comfortable working in a noisy environment with a focus on safety and detail.
