About the Opportunity

Motus Ford Cape Town invites motivated individuals to join our 4-year apprenticeship program designed to qualify successful candidates as professional Motor Mechanics. This comprehensive program combines hands-on workshop experience with structured technical training through the MerSETA Apprenticeship Programme.

Program Structure

• Duration: Maximum 4-year qualification program
• Combination of practical workshop training and classroom learning
• Progressive skill development through supervised vehicle repairs
• Regular assessments and level tests to monitor progress

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified technicians in vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Participate in all MerSETA training modules and assessments
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and quality standards
• Complete accurate repair documentation and job cards
• Develop diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science
• Valid unendorsed driver’s license
• Clean criminal record
• Mechanical aptitude (previous experience advantageous)
• Physical capability for demanding workshop environment
• Strong technical comprehension and attention to detail

Essential Skills

• Proficient in English (written and verbal communication)
• Basic computer literacy for diagnostic systems
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to work independently and in team environments
• Commitment to continuous learning and skill development
