Job Overview
Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Admin Clerk to join our Water Section. This role is vital to the efficient operation of the department, providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of water services to our community. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized professional with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- A recognized Computer Literacy Certificate.
- A Certificate in Office Administration or Public Administration will be a distinct advantage.
- A valid Driver’s License is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven secretarial and administrative abilities.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant administration experience within a Local Government Authority or Public Entity.
- Additional valued skills include: a strong work ethic, adaptability, leadership, conflict and stress management, negotiation, problem-solving, office/diary management, meticulous attention to detail, and an understanding of government procurement systems.
Preference will be given to applicants who are residents of the Midvaal area.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all tasks delegated by the Executive Director and Section Heads effectively, efficiently, and promptly.
- Perform general administrative duties for the Water Section, including undertaking routine correspondence and drafting replies.
- Provide fast and accurate typing support for the Superintendent/Foreman using word processors and personal computers.
- Manage the section’s telephone lines, screening and redirecting calls appropriately, and handling service requests and complaints.
- Administer leave records and related documentation for the section.
- Perform any other related ad-hoc tasks and duties as required by management from time to time.
Salary & Benefits
The annual salary for this position is graded at Level 9 of a Grade 04 Local Authority, ranging from R 240,288.00 to R 268,596.00 per annum.
The total remuneration package, inclusive of all benefits, is R 395,369.84 per annum.
