Job Advertisement Summary

This role involves taking instructions and ensuring all day‑to‑day maintenance for instrument trades across Rand Water sites. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, materials, and tools; delegating tasks to assistants; and ensuring all work follows Rand Water safety and quality standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or N3 in Instrumentation
  • Instrumentation Level 2 certification
  • Safety training is advantageous
  • Code EB driver’s licence
  • At least 2 years of experience in the instrument field

Primary Duties

  • Work independently on all day‑to‑day instrument maintenance
  • Complete daily, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules
  • Investigate and repair breakdowns; work overtime when required
  • Manage the allocated section of plant or site
  • Maintain work standards and ensure legal and safety compliance
  • Provide input on plant/site improvements and modifications
  • Take responsibility for instrumentation repairs, installations, and decision‑making to guarantee plant reliability
  • Plan tasks to ensure materials, tools, assistants, transport, and equipment are available
  • Inspect equipment after maintenance is performed
  • Complete all schedules, defect reports, and paperwork
  • Carry out other tasks as delegated by the supervisor

Probation Period
