About the Role
The Machine Operator will handle complex tasks that require thorough training and experience with sophisticated equipment. Your main responsibility is to operate machinery within the grain silo, ensuring safe and efficient grain handling, receiving, and offloading.
Key Responsibilities
- Push tumbrels into position according to orders and safety protocols during grain receive, handling, and offloading.
- Inspect conveyor belts for damage and ensure grain transport follows company policies to avoid cross‑contamination.
- Monitor grain and direct it to the correct bins for proper dumping.
- Inspect and measure grain bins for accuracy.
- Keep the work area tidy and organised.
- Supervise the offloading of trucks and wagons.
- Use safety equipment correctly and follow all regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a grain silo, is recommended.
- Willingness to work after hours if required.
