About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, safety‑conscious Utility Vehicle Operator to support daily operations at our Mokopane site. The role involves operating a variety of breakdown and support vehicles, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily pre‑use inspections and simple maintenance on assigned vehicles.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and follow the scheduled cleaning plan.
- Identify and report any technical issues that require advanced support.
- Communicate operational challenges to the Shift or Team Supervisor.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment are safe and fully functional before use.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest practical solutions.
- Use appropriate tools to complete assigned tasks effectively.
- Assist with loading and unloading duties as required.
- Drive vehicles in accordance with load specifications and safety guidelines.
- Maintain safe following distances and remain alert to surroundings.
- Report task completion to the supervisor and submit clear shift reports.
- Complete work to the required quality standards and specifications.
- Participate in weekly safety meetings and share safety concerns.
- Report any injuries, unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately.
- Promote safety awareness across the team and reinforce safe work procedures.
- Submit requisitions for required stock items in a timely and accurate manner.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education.
- Valid EB/Code 08 and Code 10 driver’s licence.
- Valid Code C1, C driver’s licence.
- Public Drivers Permit.
- Minimum 3 years of heavy vehicle driving experience.
- VTS testing – suitable grading.
- Certified competent as a Utility Vehicle Operator.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
