Position Summary
The University of KwaZulu‑Natal is offering two fixed‑term internships for Master’s students in Counselling or Educational Psychology. The internship is a one‑year appointment (01 January 2026 – 31 December 2026) in the Student Services Division, College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science. Interns will provide individual and group psychosocial support, crisis intervention, career and academic counselling, and develop life‑skills workshops and webinars, under supervision.
Minimum Requirements
- HPCSA registration as a Master’s student in a professional psychology programme (Counselling or Educational Psychology).
- Completion of M1 examinations by the start of the internship (2026).
- Experience in direct psychological services, including assessment, diagnosis and intervention.
- Proficiency in isiZulu is an advantage.

- Copy of HPCSA student registration certificate/card.
- Names and contact information (including email addresses) of three referees; two must be a direct clinical supervisor and a research supervisor.
Remuneration & Employment Equity
Stipend: R8,000 per month.
