About the Programme
Triton Academy is a TETA and QCTO accredited training provider. We offer courses in:
- National Certificate (NC) – Freight Handling (Occupational Certificate: Freight Handler)
- NC – Professional Driving (Occupational Certificate: Truck Driver)
These programs are designed to give participants industry‑specific skills and practical experience, preparing them to succeed in the logistics sector. Training locations include Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. We also assist customers who need the same courses wherever possible.
Our Goal
We are building a talent pool of motivated and committed individuals for our 12‑month National Certificate in Freight Handling. This learnership will empower unemployed South African youth through structured training and hands‑on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and off‑loading goods from vehicles
- Preparing vehicles for trips
- Receiving, dispatching, and handling freight documentation
- Performing ancillary warehouse and transport‑related duties
- Delivering and collecting goods and stock
- General housekeeping and maintaining clean workspaces
- Picking and packing stock accurately
- Receiving incoming stock and verifying against documentation
- Ensuring correct stacking and securing of goods for safe transport
Learning & Development
- Structured theoretical training aligned with unit standards
- Workplace practical experience and mentorship
- Assessment preparation for final external verification
Requirements
- South African citizenship
- Grade 12/TVET – N3/NQF Level 2 qualification (40% in Maths and English)
- Age 23 – 35 years
- Fitness for the role (medical clearance required)
- Basic English reading and writing skills
- Numerical orientation
- Willingness to work weekends and shifts
- Clear criminal record
- Reside in Germiston, Alberton, Boksburg, Johannesburg, Tembisa, Alexandra, Katlehong, and surrounding areas

Programme Details
Title: National Certificate in Freight Handling
