About the Role
The apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the skills needed to operate independently and productively as a competent, qualified boilermaker. You will learn to:
- Plan and prepare work sites, tools, consumables and materials for trade activities.
- Use hand, power and measuring tools effectively.
- Manufacture, assemble, install, fit, connect, inspect, commission, test, maintain and repair components, installations, assemblies and control systems.
- Apply technical knowledge in a variety of real‑world contexts.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should meet at least one of the following educational criteria:
- N2: Mathematics (pure), Engineering Science, Plating & Structural Drawing, Engineering Drawing (draughting), Metal Worker’s Theory, Plater’s Theory.
- N3 – N6: Mathematics (pure), Engineering Science, Plating & Structural Drawing, Engineering Drawing (draughting), Mechanotechnology.
- NCV Level 4: Fundamentals, First Additional Language (English), Mathematics (pure), Life Orientation, Vocational Subjects (Engineering Process, Professional Engineering Practice, Applied Engineering Technology, Welding).
- Technical Grade 12: Mechanical Technology (welding and metal work), Life Orientation, Mathematics, Engineering and Graphic Design, Home Language, First Additional language, Physical Science.
Age: 18 to 35 years
