About the Job

We are looking for a Distribution Controller to lead our Driver Sales team, ensuring on‑time, full deliveries and effective distribution of products. The role combines sales, route optimisation, trade marketing and staff management.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Route Management: Support the sales team in opening new markets; build relationships with customers and drivers; conduct daily debriefs; monitor route performance; manage returns and stock on trucks; meet sales targets.
• Trade Marketing: Assist with customer and route plans; implement competitive sales plans; understand channel and pricing strategies; support marketing initiatives.
• Quality & Customer Relations: Handle customer complaints, manage recalls, and report incidents; ensure high product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Stock & Asset Management: Maintain accurate stock counts, balance shipments, manage driver balances, and ensure safe vehicle use.
• Disciplinary & Attendance: Handle discipline issues, manage leave rosters, induct new staff, and maintain crew attendance records.
• Reporting: Provide accurate basket control, sales, and revenue reports; monitor key performance indicators such as basket balances, departure times, and return targets.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent.
• National Diploma or 3‑year degree in Sales & Marketing preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience in an FMCG environment.
• Valid drivers’ license.
• Experience managing delivery teams and route optimisation.
