About the Position

A leading structural engineering consultancy in Cape Town is seeking a registered Structural Engineer (PrEng or PrTech) with a strong background in structural steel design to join their growing team. This key role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can lead projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural engineering projects independently
• Design and analyse structural steel structures using Prokon
• Support and review the work of junior and intern team members
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other consultants
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design intent and standards

Requirements

• Professional registration with ECSA as a PrEng or PrTech
• Proven experience in structural steel design
• Proficiency in Prokon is essential
• Revit experience is beneficial (training can be provided if needed)
• Strong project and team management skills with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
