About the Role
The Trainee Buyer will plan, source, select, and purchase specified goods. This role focuses on ensuring the right products are available at the right time, in the right quantities, and at the right price. You will support the buyer and senior buyer teams, build product ranges, manage stock levels, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Build product ranges and determine product lines.
- Manage product pricing activities.
- Define article range, stock levels, and price points.
- Conduct product reviews and merchandising layout decisions.
- Plan and execute promotional and advertising events.
- Monitor stock levels and resolve any shortages in stores and distribution centres.
- Process invoices and purchase orders accurately.
- Provide functional support for buyer-related tasks.
- Research market trends and competitor actions.
- Allocate seasonal stock in coordination with supply chain teams.
Qualifications
Required: Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Desired Experience
Minimum of 2 years in retail, ideally as a store associate, supplier liaison, or trainee/junior buyer.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with analytics tools is a plus.
