Introduction

Clicks Group is looking for a dedicated Shop Assistant/Cashier to join the team at the Giyani Regional Mall. This role is central to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient point-of-sale operations. The ideal candidate will be a brand ambassador, contributing to a positive shopping experience that makes customers feel good.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all point-of-sale (POS) operational activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Scan merchandise and process payments with a high level of accuracy, including handling ClubCard rewards.
  • Safely manage cash handling procedures at all times.
  • Proactively promote the Clicks ClubCard by enrolling new members to meet participation targets.
  • Inform customers about ongoing promotions to drive sales and enhance their shopping experience.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and visible customer service, acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Perform merchandising and general housekeeping duties according to store standards.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge, ranges, promotions, and store events to offer customers correct information.
  • Support the company’s vision to be the leading health and beauty retailer by embodying its core values.

Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Basic mathematical calculations.
  • Understanding of retail/FMCG environments, including merchandising and promotional principles.
  • Knowledge of stock management procedures.

Experience:

Minimum Requirements:
Experience in a customer-facing role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment is desirable.

Education:

Essential: Grade 12 qualification.
Desirable: Minimum 50% in Mathematics and English at Grade 12 level.
