Overview
Are you passionate about building a career in HVAC? SFI Group is seeking three motivated individuals to join our 2026 HVAC Apprentice Program. This program will give you hands‑on experience working with commercial heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems while you complete a formal trade qualification.
What You’ll Do
- Follow health and safety rules and keep work areas clean.
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of HVAC components.
- Help install air ducts, valves, blowers, and other system parts.
- Support routine servicing, cleaning, and part replacements.
- Prepare work sites, organize tools, and maintain equipment.
- Learn from senior technicians and develop technical skills.
Requirements
Experience
Minimum of 2 years working in the HVAC or related service industry.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Science.
- Valid driver’s licence held for at least one year.
- Completed Nated qualification (N5) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical.
Skills & Knowledge
Technical
- Basic understanding of machinery and HVAC components.
- Ability to assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Strong willingness to learn and ask questions.
Soft Skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team player ready to work with senior technicians.
- Positive, friendly attitude.
- Good housekeeping to keep work areas safe and efficient.

Eligibility
- Available to start in January 2026.
- Willing to travel to Paarl for 6 consecutive months of training over a 3‑year period.
- Valid South African ID.
- Between 20 and 30 years of age.
- Must not have previously completed a learnership or apprenticeship, or be in the process of completing one.
- Pass the Placement Competency Evaluation Test.
- Attend a panel interview.
- No criminal record or convictions.
