About the Scholarship
The Community Scholarship Scheme is designed to invest in the future of people from our local community. Seriti will support high‑achieving students to pursue tertiary education in any field at a recognised South African university or university of technology.
Who can apply?
- Grade 12 learners who have been provisionally accepted for study at a registered Higher Education Institution (HET) for the 2026 academic year.
- University students currently studying towards a degree or diploma at a registered HET (any year of study).
- Only accredited (NQF Level 6 or higher) courses are eligible.
- Preference is given to students from the Khutala Local Community.
- Bridging or foundation programmes are not funded.
- Applicants must have their most recent results or matric certificate available.
- Selection will be based on academic results, excellence and financial need.
Eligibility
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Provide a certified copy (within 3 months) of the most recent Grade 12 report or matric certificate.
- Submit a brief CV.
- Include a letter of provisional acceptance or proof of 2026 registration from an accredited mainstream university or university of technology.
- Provide proof of residence (e.g., municipal water & lights statement, or a letter from a council member or chief).
Value of the Bursary
- Tuition fees for the 2026 academic year (excluding failed subjects, outstanding fees and interest).
- Accommodation and meal allowance.
- Pocket money.
- Book allowance.
- One‑off laptop allowance.
Terms & Conditions
- Final contract is contingent on official registration for the 2026 year.
- Students must pass all subjects; failures are not funded.
- Seriti does not provide internship or vacation work opportunities.
- No work‑back obligation upon completion of studies.
- Bridging course or foundation year students are ineligible.
- Preference will be given to local community members.
- Applicants must study full‑time.
- Students receiving other sponsorships are ineligible.

- Attach PDF versions of your CV, certified copies of qualifications, ID document, academic record/results, registration acceptance letter, and proof of residence.
- Applies will be considered at the end of the academic year unless selected earlier.
