Job Purpose
The Sales Clerk – Parts is responsible for delivering exceptional sales support and customer service for spare parts. The role requires engaging customers, maintaining supplier relationships, and promoting sales through marketing activities while ensuring operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service
- Build strong customer relationships with friendly and knowledgeable support.
- Identify customer needs and propose appropriate parts and solutions.
- Record and track customer requests, following up promptly.
- Handle queries and complaints professionally, resolving issues quickly.
- Explain warranties, returns, and exchange policies.
- Keep customer interactions in line with company policies and standards.
- Sales & Marketing
- Plan and execute promotional activities (farmers’ days, trade shows, demos).
- Identify seasonal demands and adjust marketing strategies.
- Promote agent brands through targeted sales initiatives.
- Process orders accurately and ensure timely fulfilment.
- Use catalogues and digital databases to recommend suitable parts.
- Conduct counter sales and offer competitive pricing.
- Provide after‑sales support and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Use telephone sales techniques to reach new and existing customers.
- Report lost sales opportunities to management for improvement.
- Admin & Housekeeping
- Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organised sales and storage area.
- Merchandise products effectively to keep shelves attractive.
- Pack and pick stock efficiently to support sales.
- Set up displays for promotional events.
- Balance stock by checking inventory levels and reporting discrepancies.
- Participate in quarterly stock‑taking to ensure accuracy.
- Keep detailed records of sales and stock movements.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate.
- At least one year of relevant spare parts sales experience.
