Role Overview
Ensure all transactions within your responsibility area are processed on time and accurately. You will support the Accounts Payable, Imprest, and Petty Cash functions, and maintain compliance with VAT and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing:
- Generate entries in paying status from the procurement system on time.
- Verify GL allocations and correct any inaccuracies.
- Identify and review capital or prepaid items.
- Process journals to reallocate costs when GL allocations are incorrect.
- Documentation Review:
- Ensure supporting documents are accurate, complete, and valid.
- Confirm invoices meet VAT regulations for VAT recovery.
- Payment & Refunds:
- Process payments and refunds promptly.
- Reconcile supporting documents to ensure balances.
- Guarantee vendors, imposters, petty cash, employee refunds, and statutory payments meet due dates.
- Accruals & Reallocations:
- Raise accruals for open orders and recurring expenses.
- Reverse accruals when payments are produced from the procurement system.
- Reconciliations:
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for accrual, imposter, and petty cash accounts.
- Resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- General Administration:
- Maintain financial records for audit purposes.
- Ensure filing deadlines are met.
- Ad‑hoc Tasks: Assist with miscellaneous duties as needed.
- Governance & ESG:
- Adhere to SBV Services’ ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.
- Support ESG reporting and initiatives.
- Change Management:
- Lead the integration of new processes and systems.
- Communicate changes effectively across teams.
Requirements
- No prior experience required.
- Education:
- Matric with accounts or mathematics (minimum 60% in any of these subjects), or
- 3‑year tertiary financial qualification.
