Job Description

The General Worker’s primary purpose is to provide support to the Waste Control Drivers and to deliver professional, efficient, and accurate service to customers during material collection.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Driver with general duties.
• Guide the Driver in and out of confined spaces when required.
• Keep the truck clean and neat at all times.
• Fill the truck with diesel at the diesel pumps.
• Maintain cleanliness in the Waste Control yard when the truck is not in use.
• Assist with spill cleanups at the Waste Control Yard and customer premises.
• Perform general duties as instructed by Drivers or Controllers.
• Ensure all loads are properly secured and covered during transit.
• Work safely to avoid endangering oneself, others, or property.
• Adhere to specific tasks outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifying Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime and on public holidays during the December period.
• Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
• Capability to function efficiently in high-pressure work situations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
