About the Role
Redefine Properties Limited is seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented Utilities Administrator to manage utility recoveries across our properties. The role focuses on ensuring accurate billing, handling tenant queries, maintaining supplier relations and providing technical support to our property management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and optimise utility recovery ratios on a monthly basis.
- Ensure correct tariff allocation in line with company billing methodologies.
- Validate the allocation of supply, metering and expenses, guaranteeing all consumption is recorded.
- Respond to tenant and billing queries promptly and professionally.
- Offer specialist or technical support to property management teams as needed.
- Monitor utility service provider performance against service level agreements and address any non‑performance.
- Assist Property Administration with technical query resolution.
- Keep recovery liability information up to date and submit it to the service provider in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit monthly performance reports to the business.
- Collaborate with utility analysts to identify improvement opportunities.
Requirements
Solid understanding of:
- Utility management within multi‑tenanted properties.
- Metering and verification principles.
- Electrical distribution systems and energy fundamentals.
- Municipal utility tariffs.
- Regulatory requirements for the supply and recovery of electricity, water, and sewer services.
- Principles of electricity, water, and waste management.
Qualifications
- Senior Certificate (preferably with Mathematics and Accounts).
- Tertiary qualification is beneficial.
- Additional industry‑relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years in utility management, preferably within the property sector.
Proficiencies
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and handling large data sets.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Vendor management experience.
