Purpose of the Job

The Receiving Clerk will accurately receive, redirect and process all deliveries received at the site.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) – Accounting or Mathematics.
  • Experience with SAP Materials module (PTP).
  • At least one year of relevant finance or administration experience.
  • Strong Excel, Word and Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working with invoices and creating purchase orders – a plus.
  • Experience compiling reports and analysing data – a plus.

  • Reporting skills – advantage.
  • Knowledge and acceptance of Impala’s code of conduct, policies and procedures.

Key Performance Areas

  • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing and database systems.
  • Compile, sort and verify data for accuracy.
  • Review files and records to obtain information and respond to requests.
  • Communicate with customers, employees and other stakeholders to answer questions, take orders and address complaints.
  • Check deadlines on incoming requests to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining an efficient records management system.

Specific Duties of the Receiving Clerk

  • Check delivery notes against orders in SAP.
  • Print receiving documents and direct deliveries to correct off‑loading locations.
  • Verify description, quantity and quality (visual inspection) of goods.
  • Guide suppliers to the correct off‑loading point or bin location.
  • Sign delivery notes and hand copies to drivers; ensure discrepancies are signed by both parties.
  • Close off the receipt of goods and hand copies to drivers.
  • File original delivery notes and copies of goods received notes; maintain filing system.
