Job Description

Our Talent Team is actively searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented Route Controller to join our Baking Division. This position will be based at our Mokopane Depot and will report directly to the Depot Controller.

The primary purpose of this role is to manage the daily logistics systems within the depot. This includes conducting daily de-briefs for each driver on their respective routes, supervising key distribution performance indicators (KPIs), and performing the necessary daily investigations to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily logistics systems and operations at the depot.
• Ensure daily de-briefs are conducted thoroughly for every driver and route.
• Supervise, monitor, and analyze distribution KPIs, conducting relevant investigations as needed.
• Coordinate and execute Route Rides on a quarterly basis, analyzing the findings to drive improvements.
• Coordinate training sessions to ensure 100% attendance for Salesman-Driver and Van Assistant training programs.
• Investigate instances of poor KPI performance and compile actionable plans to address them.
• Handle customer complaints and queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with key industry stakeholders.
• Ensure all administrative practices are sound, accurate, and up-to-date.
• Work independently and use initiative to solve problems and improve processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate.
• A recognized qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics will be a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years of logistics experience, preferably within an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
• A valid Code 10 driver’s license.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to guide a team.
• Highly organized and systems-oriented.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
• Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels.
