Job Summary
Operate conveyors and associated equipment to fill lime bunkers to their optimum operating levels, ensuring safe and efficient plant operation.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF 4/N3 qualification in Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes.
- Previous experience in a water purification plant is desirable.
- Process Controller classification under DW’s regulations is an advantage.
Main Responsibilities
- Select, fill and monitor lime bunkers daily to prevent overfill.
- Load road trucks upon request.
- Start and stop lime conveyors.
- Record bunker readings for stock monitoring.
- Check conveyor, crusher and vibrator condition for visible defects.
- Ensure all starting interlocks and dust extraction units are cleared and functioning.
- Start the vibrator and feeder units.
- Inspect the basement water level to avoid flooding.
- Transfer PAC products into silos and monitor silo levels.
- Maintain cleanliness: clean chemical spills, choked crusher and conveyor chutes.
