Job Advert Summary
Provide assistance in the cost‑effective and timely production of pipe specials, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or technical equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in a related field
- Ability to perform physical labour safely
Primary Duties
- Aide the operator in fabricating pipes and pipe specials using the appropriate machinery and tools.
- Clean machines and articles, maintain tidy workshop area, plan and reorganise work where necessary.
- Apply quality awareness and implement best practices to reduce consumables usage.
- Assist in recording data related to each item being worked on.
- Support other artisans in their tasks.
- Promote customer awareness and satisfaction.
- Conduct mini‑risk assessments, comply with the OHS Act, and support environmental legislation compliance.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of pipe fitting and assembly of intricate pipe specials.
- Familiarity with welding, boilermaking tools and equipment.
- Ability to work with centre lines and focal points of complex pipe specials.
- Knowledge of marking, cutting, rolling, welding, cleaning and provision of quality items.
- Good communication skills – both spoken and written.
- Reporting skills and ability to document work accurately.
- Awareness of quality, safety and environmental issues.
- Capability to care for tools and equipment appropriately.
