Personal Assistant to the Principal

Glenstantia Primary School is seeking a highly organised, professional, and dedicated Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to the Principal. This is a key role within the school’s administration, ideal for an experienced individual who thrives in a dynamic educational environment and is committed to contributing to the school’s operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level administrative support to the Principal, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school’s daily operations. Key duties will include managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, preparing documents and reports, taking minutes, handling confidential information, and acting as a first point of contact for various stakeholders including staff, parents, and visitors.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate is a minimum requirement.
- A formal administrative qualification will be a distinct advantage.
- High level of computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in school computer systems, such as D6, will be highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a Personal Assistant or in a similar senior administrative role.
- Previous experience working within an educational environment (school, college, university) is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced minute-taking skills for high-level meetings.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and maintain a calm and professional demeanour.
- Must demonstrate absolute discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Professional, approachable, and able to interact positively with a diverse range of people.
- Willingness to work after hours on occasion, as required by school events or deadlines.
