Position Title: Payroll & HR Administrator

About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, detail-focused professional to fill a dual-role position combining payroll expertise and HR administration. This role is critical to ensuring accurate employee compensation and seamless HR operations in our Cape Town CBD office. If you have 3+ years of payroll processing experience, Sage 300 proficiency, and a passion for HR support, this opportunity is for you.
Core Responsibilities
You’ll split your time between payroll precision and HR efficiency:
Payroll Management (Primary Focus):
✔️ End-to-End Payroll Processing: Run monthly payroll for 200+ employees using Sage 300 People (non-negotiable skill).
✔️ Query Resolution: Address payroll discrepancies, tax issues (PAYE), UIF, and employee salary queries promptly.
✔️ Statutory Compliance: Prepare and submit EMP201 returns, reconcile payroll accounts, and ensure adherence to SARS tax regulations.
✔️ Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records and audit trails for compliance.
HR Administration (Secondary Focus):
✔️ Database & Records Management: Update physical/digital employee files and HR databases (e.g., leave, benefits).
✔️ Recruitment Support: Coordinate interviews, background checks, and offer paperwork.
✔️ Onboarding: Assist with new hire orientation, contract setup, and induction scheduling.
✔️ Project Assistance: Support HR policy rollouts, wellness programs, and compliance audits.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Non-negotiables:
✅ Qualification: National Certificate in Payroll Administration (or equivalent).
✅ Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on payroll processing in a medium-to-large organisation (200+ employees).
✅ System Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in Sage 300 People – candidates without this will not be considered.
✅ HR Exposure: At least 1 year of HR administration duties (records, recruitment, onboarding).
✅ Legal Knowledge: Working understanding of:

Compensation & Benefits
Total Package Value: Up to R30,500/month (including allowances):
