Full Job Description
Novus Print in Port Elizabeth is currently accepting applications for their 2026 apprenticeship programme, scheduled to commence in January 2026. We have an opening for one Printers Mechanic apprentice. This comprehensive programme includes 36 months of facilitated theoretical and experiential training, designed to prepare candidates for their respective trade tests.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will enter into a contract with both the employer and the FP&M SETA for the entire duration of the training programme.
- Phase 1: Complete approximately 3-4 months of theoretical training at the academy (if applicable)
- Phases 2-4: Complete approximately 26-30 months at Novus Print for the core experiential component of the training
The three-year apprenticeship combines core theoretical training with hands-on experience through both the academy and college. Please note that there is no contractual obligation for permanent placement in the respective trade following successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.
Educational Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Mathematical Literacy with a minimum pass rate of 50% (Please attach your matric certificate or latest results)
Experience Requirements
A technical foundation would be advantageous but not mandatory.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in English (all course materials are in English)
- Willingness to work shifts as required
- Exceptional colour perception abilities
- A technical interest or demonstrated technical aptitude would be beneficial
