About the Programme

The YES (Youth Employment Service) programme at Nedbank provides young South Africans with quality work experience to improve their employability. Successful candidates will be placed in the Nedbank Contact Centre in Umhlanga Rocks, Durban, working in Personal and Private Banking.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a professional customer service representative, sales, or collections agent.
• Promote Nedbank’s values of integrity, respect, accountability and client‑centred service.
• Identify opportunities to promote Nedbank products.
• Engage with clients through phone, email, and SMS, delivering a positive experience.
• Support the team by participating, sharing knowledge, and meeting daily duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality call services to improve client relationships.
• Manage arrears, address defaults on instalments, and reduce risk.
• Participate in team meetings and training initiatives.
• Maintain professional standards and abide by Nedbank policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric certificate (Grade 12 National Senior Certificate).
• Age 18–29 years (born between November 1995 and November 2007).
• Currently unemployed.
• First‑time participant in a YES programme.
• South African citizenship, born as an African, Coloured or Indian (per B-BBEE Act).
• Valid South African ID.

Additional Skills

• Proficient in English, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of other South African languages is an advantage.
• Basic computer skills.

Work Conditions

Full 8‑hour shift a day with possible weekend and public holiday work. The role requires full on‑site presence at the agreed location.

Residential Requirements

Participants should live within a 30–35 km radius of Umhlanga to support reliable attendance and manageable travel costs.
