Job Summary
The Junior IT Support Technician will be the first point of contact for end‑user technical issues. Your role will involve diagnosing and resolving basic hardware, software, and network problems to keep the office running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to helpdesk tickets, emails, and phone calls regarding IT support requests.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with desktop and laptop computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, printers, and software updates.
- Assist in setting up new user accounts, email addresses, and access permissions.
- Deploy antivirus solutions, patches, and software updates.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and maintenance tasks in the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Escalate complex incidents to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Provide basic training and guidance to users on standard applications and systems.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment and assets.
- Follow IT policies, procedures, and data security protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent; additional IT certifications are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
- Understanding of computer hardware components and basic networking concepts.
- Prior experience in a similar IT support role is desirable but not mandatory.
