Strategic Planning Specialist – Centurion
A vacancy exists for a Strategic Planning Specialist at our client’s office in Centurion. This role forms a critical part of the Bank’s Corporate Strategy and Innovation division, contributing directly to the development and execution of the Bank’s strategic objectives.
About the Position
The successful candidate will serve as a prime contributor to the development of the Bank’s strategic and corporate plans, working closely with the Head: Corporate Strategy and Innovation. Key responsibilities include preparing strategy documents, leading the planning process, and monitoring the execution of the Bank’s Corporate Strategic Plan. This role also involves producing reports such as the Corporate Performance Scorecard, Quarterly Reports to National Treasury, and the Integrated Annual Report.
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage and facilitate the Strategy Planning Process for the Bank, including communicating requirements to stakeholders, ensuring milestone adherence, and preparing content for Board and ExCo Strategy sessions.
- Develop strategies to inform the Bank’s direction at a corporate level, ensuring alignment and implementation at the functional level. This includes conducting strategic analyses, facilitating operational strategy communication, and reviewing performance plans.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report progress for internal and external stakeholders, including the National Treasury, Parliament, and other key stakeholders. This involves project managing the Integrated Annual Report, generating quarterly reports, and identifying risks to strategy achievement.
- Track and report on strategy performance through the development of strategy maps, allocation of key metrics, and implementation of performance monitoring systems. Contribute to remediation plans for under-achievement areas and facilitate internal audits of the Performance Scorecard.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Economics, Financial Management, or a related field.
- 4-5 years’ experience in strategy planning, formulation, and development.
- 4-5 years’ experience in coordinating and preparing performance monitoring and reporting against organisational strategy and corporate plans.
- Knowledge of the business environment.
