Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Warehouse Machine Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Midrand. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for operating reach and forklift trucks to facilitate the efficient and safe movement of materials within our factory. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining the safety and security of the plant by strictly observing and applying the L’ORÉAL EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) policy on site.
  • Offload deliveries from supplier vehicles bringing stock, equipment, and consumables into the factory.
  • Load finished goods onto outbound deliveries heading to the Distribution Center (DC).
  • Perform put-away operations, moving received items from staging areas into their designated racked locations, including handling DC returns.
  • Pick items as per picking lists and transfer orders from racked locations for various needs, including UP approach, subcontractor staging areas, returns to suppliers, and destruction.
  • Shunt pallets as required between different warehouse areas.
  • Participate in all physical inventory counts, including cycle counts.
  • Sample all incoming components to ensure they meet our rigorous quality standards.
  • Maintain the highest quality in all tasks, ensuring correct and accurate put-away, picking, loading, and offloading.
  • Participate in auditing exercises related to corrective put-away and picking processes.
  • Uphold high standards in equipment maintenance, including daily checks, inspections, incident reporting, and battery charging.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly working area and warehouse, adhering to strict housekeeping specifications.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with L’ORÉAL’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate (subjects in Mathematics and Science are advantageous).
  • A valid forklift and reach truck operator certificate is essential.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with using an inventory management system, specifically SAP.
  • Hands-on experience in core warehousing processes (e.g., Receiving, Put Away, Picking, Dispatch).
  • A basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety practices.
  • Basic computer skills are required for data entry and inventory tracking using a smart tablet.
