Job Description

An excellent opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified candidate to join our team as a Courier. This is a permanent position based at our East Rand – Roseacres facility.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide safe and timely collection and delivery of goods and shuttle services while maintaining excellent customer service standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification (preferable)
• Appropriate Driver’s Licence
• Grade 10 or a minimum of 10 years courier experience
• Grade 10 with 2-3 years relevant working experience OR minimum 10 years courier experience

Key Responsibilities

• Check boxes and tasks for deliveries and collections to plan efficient collection and delivery routes
• Conduct delivery and collection of specimens from outlying laboratories, supporting doctors and clients to ensure specimens, reports and other goods reach correct destinations promptly and in good condition
• Complete and sign proof of delivery for specimens or reports collected or delivered to maintain accurate records for tracking purposes
• Scan specimens and results on the Courier Management Programme to ensure all deliveries and collections can be tracked and traced
• Maintain daily safekeeping and fault reporting on Lancet’s assets (vehicles, petrol cards, uniforms etc.) and equipment to ensure they remain in good condition
• Utilize protective wear (specimen bags, gloves, eye protection etc.) to ensure personal safety and adherence to Health and Safety regulations
• Complete incident and accident reports and submit to Management to ensure insurance claims are processed timeously and all damages are repaired
• Maintain cleanliness of Lancet vehicles and report any spills of hazardous materials to management to ensure safe working conditions as per Quality Assurance Standards
