About the role
We are looking for an Administration Clerk to work at our Cape Town site. The role is permanent and involves night shift or relief work. The main duties include collecting, delivering and logging medical specimens and reports, and supporting the laboratory team with administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Log into the system to record attendance according to procedures.
- Make hospital rounds to deliver reports and collect samples for the lab.
- Check reports that controllers place on the rack for delivery or collection.
- Sort collection and delivery reports by route for efficient service.
- Record reference numbers in the register book as proof of receipt by doctors.
- Load cooler bags with ice for specimen collection following SOPs.
- Transport specimens between depots and deliver them to the correct destination.
- Assist with sample registration, receipt, dispatch, and queries as per SOP.
- Scan specimen bar‑codes to help track samples.
- Track courier progress to ensure timely arrival of specimens at the lab.
- Monitor stock levels, order extra supplies, and deliver items to doctors’ rooms.
- Receive cash from patients and comply with banking procedures.
- Drive between sites to collect and deliver specimens and reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- BSc degree is an advantage.
- 0‑1 year relevant working experience.
- Entry level – no previous experience required.
