About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and professional Admin Clerk / Receptionist to join the team at Lancet Laboratories, based at the Mbombela Intercare facility. This permanent position is central to our operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of samples and providing outstanding front-line customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the receiving, capturing, and distribution of all laboratory samples according to strict standard operating procedures.
- Process sample registration (“logging”) and efficiently handle related queries.
- Dispatch specimens for processing, monitor progress, and ensure the timely filing and delivery of reports.
- Perform scheduled hospital rounds to distribute reports and collect new samples for processing.
- Handle and refer administrative queries and customer complaints to ensure swift resolution.
- Track sample deliveries via couriers to ensure they are received and processed by the designated laboratory within required timeframes.
- Investigate and resolve any bottlenecks or challenges in the pre-analytical laboratory processes.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping in your work area, including the cleaning and preparation of equipment.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for additional supplies, and ensure delivery to designated areas.
- Represent the organization professionally by applying principles of excellent customer care when interacting with medical professionals, staff, and patients.
- Manage the reception area, provide relevant information, direct clients to appropriate departments, and offer exceptional customer service.
- Receive cash payments from patients and ensure accurate banking procedures are followed.
- Report incidents, log customer complaints, and action tasks on the laboratory information management system.
- Prepare and scan patient forms onto the laboratory scanning system (Oculus) and resolve any scanning issues.
- Adhere strictly to the company dress code and uniform protocols.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 certificate or a relevant NQF level 4 qualification.
- A BSc Degree is considered a strong advantage.
- 0-1 years of relevant working experience.
- Familiarity with organizational policy procedures.
- Must be computer literate and have experience with laboratory information systems.
