About the Job
URA Consulting invites enthusiastic and motivated recent graduates to join our communications and brand management team for a 12‑month internship. You will work under the guidance of a dedicated mentor in a dynamic, purpose‑driven environment that focuses on development finance and agribusiness. The internship offers a structured programme that combines practical work experience, academic learning and soft‑skills development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing communication strategies that support the Fund’s mandate and brand.
- Help create, publish and manage content for digital channels, including social media, newsletters and the website.
- Contribute to brand positioning initiatives, ensuring visual and messaging consistency across all materials.
- Carry out market research on communication and branding trends in the development finance and agribusiness sectors.
- Support planning and execution of stakeholder engagement activities, events and campaigns.
- Aid in preparing presentations, press releases, reports and other communication collateral.
- Track media coverage and provide insights on brand reputation and stakeholder perception.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for communications and marketing projects.
- Assist the Executive Office in drafting executive communications, speeches, talking points and internal memos.
- Help prepare Board and Executive Committee packs, presentations and Executive Director reports.
- Coordinate strategic events, workshops and stakeholder engagements for the Executive Director, capturing outcomes and ensuring action items are tracked.
Qualifying Criteria
- South African citizen.
- Completed bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, Public Relations or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital tools and social media platforms.
- Demonstrated creativity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- A passion for brand building, development impact and stakeholder engagement.

Programme Structure
Phase 1 – Month 1: Onboarding, induction, readiness workshops, mentor assignment.
Phase 2 – Months 2 to 11: Place you in a relevant business unit stream, complete formal qualification modules or professional certification requirements, participate in soft‑skills training, receive continuous mentorship.
Phase 3 – Month 12: Transition and exit – finish final academic/professional modules, attend workplace readiness workshops, complete exit evaluation, participate in graduation ceremony.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Baseline and final knowledge/skills assessment by the training institution.
- Quarterly supervisor and mentor reviews focused on expected outcomes.
- Exit evaluation and close‑out capstone project.
