Trainee – Junior Business Analyst

Job Synopsis

Assist Dealmakers and Senior Dealmakers with screening funding enquiries, conducting basic analyses of funding applications, and preparing assessments for presentation to relevant forums. Support the maintenance of SAP data and provide general office management support to the Gauteng regional team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Screen funding enquiries and applications with Dealmakers and Senior Dealmakers.
• Conduct basic assessments of funding applications and present findings to appropriate forums.
• Prepare client files, assessment templates, and due‑diligence documentation.
• Coordinate meeting schedules, follow‑ups, and provide administrative support for client engagements.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments and client interactions.
• Provide operational support to the Gauteng regional team as directed.
• Update the pipeline in SAP, including status updates, notes, and other required information.
• Coordinate administrative tasks such as scheduling and follow‑ups for Dealmakers and Senior Dealmakers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
• 2–5 years of experience in a related discipline.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of development finance imperatives (advantageous).
• Appreciation of the role of IDC.
• Excellent self‑leadership.
• Experience in engaging, managing, and negotiating with clients.
• Proven ability to interact effectively with teams and investment forums.
• Versatile, action‑oriented, and highly organized.
• Good communication and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Persistent drive and determination to achieve goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint.
