Group Financial Manager – Central Finance
About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Group Financial Manager in our Central Finance department, located in Midrand. Reporting to the Group Financial Executive, this position is responsible for overseeing group and corporate accounting, general ledger, and consolidation processes, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly Group consolidation and management accounts, including commentary.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closures.
- Prepare and review Group consolidation and month-end workings, maintaining up-to-date records of intercompany transactions and balance matrix.
- Prepare annual financial statements for the Group, subsidiary companies, and interim financial statements.
- Review monthly journal entries and ensure completion of annual audit files.
- Manage corporate assigned companies, including actual results, budgets, and forecasting activities.
- Prepare and report Group and company cashflow statements using Finnivo.
- Assist subsidiary financial managers with month-end, year-end, and annual financial statements.
- Implement and maintain Group accounting policies, procedures, and the chart of accounts in Finnivo.
- Review capital investment requests and maintain the Corporate fixed assets register.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage corporate department accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- provide support for acquisitions, special projects, and related accounting matters.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified CA(SA) with at least three years of post-article experience in Group Finance.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in SAGE X3 and Finnivo or similar systems.
- Results-oriented with attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent understanding of internal and external reporting.
- Strong business acumen, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and lead effectively.
