Job Purpose

Assist with logistics by preparing equipment for loading and unloading of products and chemicals, and performing general housekeeping to keep the plant clean and safe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and identify it correctly.
  • Participate in emergency drills and safety training.
  • Inspect safety equipment regularly and arrange maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct Basic Accident Prevention Program (BAPP) observations when required.
  • Follow all safety and work standards.
  • Perform IMS inspections.
  • Clean plant areas, benches, floors, glassware and PPE as directed.
  • Pack materials in storage areas according to instruction.
  • Store and handle chemicals and dangerous materials safely.
  • Handle gas cylinders safely (when applicable).
  • Load and unload vehicle cargo.
  • Maintain neatness in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Work under direct supervision and complete tasks as planned.
  • Assist senior staff with discipline‑specific tasks.
  • Deliver messages and parcels when requested.
  • Work overtime when required.
  • Use hand tools and equipment correctly and safely.
  • Support senior personnel with ad‑hoc tasks.

Qualifications

Education: Grade 12 with Maths and Science subjects.

Licences: Code EC1 driving licence (mandatory). Forklift licence is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
