Job Overview

Fidelity Services Group is looking for a meticulous and organized Cashbook Clerk to become a valuable member of our finance team based in Helderkruin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of cashbook entries and reconciliations. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of our accounts payable function and requires a proactive individual who can work effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain precise and current cashbook records for all accounts payable transactions.
  • Process and accurately post invoices, credit card payments, and various expenses to their respective accounts.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of cashbooks with general ledger accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Support month-end closing activities, including the preparation of necessary journal entries and reconciliation reports.
  • Address and resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with additional financial projects and reporting tasks as required by the finance team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Finance Diploma or a related qualification is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Capable of working independently and prioritizing workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with accounting software, particularly SAP, will be a distinct advantage.
  • An Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
