About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Repair Shop Assistant to support our workshop technicians in Pinetown. The successful candidate will help keep the workshop running smoothly, maintain a clean and organised work environment, and ensure all job details are accurately recorded.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the workshop technician with all routine tasks and provide constructive support.
• Manage your own workload efficiently and keep accurate records of hours worked.
• Keep all work bays and tools clean, tidy and in good condition.
• Record all lubricants and consumables used on the job card.
• Maintain proper assembly order and cleaning of components before installation.
• Help technicians uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety and productivity.
• Build positive relationships with parts staff and fellow technicians.
• Participate in training programmes and share new knowledge with colleagues.
• Follow all health, safety and company rules, including wearing correct PPE.
• Attend staff meetings regularly and act on any corrective actions needed.
• Support apprentices and other peers, encouraging learning and performance.

Requirements

• Matric certificate.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar maintenance or repair role.
• Good knowledge of commercial vehicle service and parts.
• Code 10‑14 driving licence with a valid PrDP.
