Finance Administrator – Fixed‑Term Contract (4 months)

Job Purpose
Maintain accurate and complete accounting records, including the cashbook, general ledger, sub‑ledgers, reconciliations, trial balance and annual financial statements. Provide commentary and explanations for reporting items.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and load supplier payments weekly for approval.
- Capture supplier invoices, general ledger journals and cashbook batches on Sage 300.
- Issue and reconcile petty cash.
- Maintain the fixed assets register – record additions, disposals and perform verifications.
- Assist with reconciliations of balance‑sheet accounts.
- Prepare audit files, provide documentation and respond to audit enquiries.
- Ensure supplier invoices are paid within 30 days.
- Manage pool‑car bookings and keep the logbook accurate.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate or B.Com Accounting degree, or National Diploma in a finance‑related qualification.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant finance experience.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Project Management, GRAP, VAT legislation, PFMA, IFRS, National Treasury reporting templates and budgeting.
- Experience working in a public entity.
