Position Summary

Eskom is offering an exciting learnership opportunity for a Plant Operator position at our Peaking operating unit in Grabouw, Western Cape. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop technical skills in the energy sector through comprehensive institutionalized and on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will undergo extensive training to develop the necessary skills for plant operations. During the learnership period, the incumbent will:

• Receive institutionalized training in plant operations
• Participate in hands-on, on-the-job training
• Learn and adhere to Eskom’s policies and procedures
• Develop operational skills in a power generation environment

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics (50%), Physical Science (50%), and English (40%) OR
• N3 with Mathematics (50%), Science (50%), and English (40%) OR
• NCV Level 4 with Mathematics (50%), Science (50%), and English (40%)
• Additional qualifications that will be considered:
  • National N4/N5 Certificate with Trade Subjects
  • National N6 Certificate with Trade Subjects
  • National Diploma/B Tech/B Eng/BSC Eng

Experience Requirements

Applicants will go through a comprehensive recruitment process. Successful candidates will be placed in Eskom Operations across various divisions. No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided.
