Introduction
Eskom Rotek Industries is seeking a dedicated and motivated graduate to join our team as a Graduate in Training within the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) department. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to launch their career by identifying and managing risks that could impact employee health and safety, cause loss of life, damage to property and equipment, result in production loss, or harm the environment. The position is based at our Rosherville facility in Germiston and falls under the Risk and Strategy business unit.
Job Description
As a Graduate in Training, you will be immersed in our SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) framework. You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn and apply best practices in risk management. Your primary role will be to support the implementation and adherence of our comprehensive safety and environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and administration of the Safety, Health, and Environment section.
- Support the implementation of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management standards.
- Participate in risk assessment activities and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
- Help ensure adherence to all SHEQ policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Assist in the promotion of a strong safety culture and environmental consciousness across the organization.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of SHE-related reports and presentations.

- High level of verbal and written communication skills in English.

Knowledge
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Management systems.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act 85 of 1993 and other relevant South African legislation.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Environmental), and 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards.
- Basic knowledge of environmental legislation.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
A National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management or Environmental Health.
Experience:
No prior work experience is required; this is a training position for a recent graduate.
