About the Role
The Maintenance Operations team at SEC finds a detail-oriented Engineering Clerk essential for supporting four Maintenance Area Managers and their foremen. The role handles day‑to‑day administration, documentation control, and coordination of audits to help keep maintenance work running smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily aid to Maintenance Area Managers and Foremen – scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes and tracking action items.
- Handle stationery and PPE requests – issue items, track inventory, keep accurate records.
- Support the Management of Change (MOC) process – manage documentation control and workflow monitoring.
- Maintain and safeguard all Maintenance folders in digital and paper formats.
- Administer and track overtime forms, ensuring approvals are recorded correctly.
- Assist with Preparation for Risk‑Based Inspection (RBI), Holistic Assess and third‑party audits.
- Prepare reports, presentations, register lists and other maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all documentation meets audit, compliance and record‑keeping standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, service providers and inspection teams.
- Promote a strong safety, quality and compliance culture in all administrative tasks.
- Cover for other STO administrative staff during leave or absences as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 / Matric. A background in administration, technical or business subjects is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of administrative work in maintenance, engineering, petrochemical or industrial settings.
- Basic knowledge of MOC processes is a plus.
- Experience supporting RBI, Holistic and third‑party audits is preferred.
- Strong computer skills – MS Office Suite required; SAP or similar ERP systems are a bonus.
- Excellent organisational, communication and multitasking abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record‑keeping.
- Capable of working with technical teams in a fast‑paced environment.
