We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Warehouse Operator specializing in Picking. Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Operator (Picking) is responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and counting products based on picking instructions. This role is crucial to our efficient order fulfillment process, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety protocols. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the operator supports the smooth operation of the warehouse and helps us meet our customer satisfaction goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct loose case and layer picking activities by accurately selecting and gathering required products based on picking instructions.
  • Pack picked items securely and efficiently, ensuring proper packaging materials, labeling, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maximize pallet stability during the picking process, considering in-transit conditions and delivery vehicles.
  • Count and verify picked items to ensure accuracy and completeness of orders.
  • Identify and report out-of-stock or short-picked items during the picking process.
  • Utilize picking equipment to navigate the warehouse and locate products efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Communicate any product or packaging concerns (e.g., damaged goods, incorrect labeling) to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance picking skills and stay updated on warehouse procedures.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Contribute to a safe work environment and overall safety compliance.
  • Support the achievement of the team’s goals and objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG Retail industry.
  • Valid Electric Pallet Jack License.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
